
The idea behind the game is: the China hedgehogs are bored and need the players help to let them play! Their favorite thing to do is to fly through the air into the rooms of the Hedgehog Hotel where they go to hibernate every year. A player’s job is to throw them and to get them into the rooms they love the most.
We have designed the app keeping in mind its target audience who could be children as well as adults. The game proffers a 2-D side view, alike "Angry Birds". The idea that we put is that there are two hills: one where hedgehogs will wait and on the other hill there will be the Hedgehog Hotel. On the right side of the screen, the hedgehogs wait at the top of a hill and the player will control them to roll down the hill, across a valley, and into the holes on the opposite hill near the Hedgehog Hotel. When the hedgehogs are thrown into the air, they open up their arms and legs to fly and squeal in delight. When the hedgehogs falls into a hole, points are awarded. Different points are allotted for different holes. Highest points will be awarded for the smallest hole, which is positioned at the farthest.
After one hedgehog disappears into a hole, another climbs up to the top of the hill from behind the hill, does a happy dance, then drops to all 4 feet in preparation to be launched by player. Upon launch, the cycle repeats. Short run down the hill, change to ball, animated roll, launch & fly in spread-eagle animation, change to ball just before landing, disappear, or roll to bottom hole.
We have written the game in Flash and ActionScript 3. And a lot of works has also been done on CS5. Screen size has been kept as 750 x 450px.
